Question 1

How does a contractor-specific request link work?

Accepted Answer

Each contractor has a shareable public link for estimate requests. A homeowner can use it without creating an account and submit their name, an email address or phone number, the service or job type, and project details. The contractor can save an introduction and instructions that appear on their form. Submissions through that link are saved to that contractor’s private Latchbird inbox.

Question 2

Can I add an inquiry that came in somewhere else?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can enter an inquiry yourself in your inbox, including one you received by phone, text, or another channel. Latchbird does not continuously monitor those channels or automatically import their messages, so add outside inquiries manually when you want to keep a record here.

Question 3

Where are estimate requests saved?

Accepted Answer

Public-link requests are saved in the private inbox for the contractor whose link was used. The record keeps the homeowner’s contact and job details together, and remains available when the contractor returns to Latchbird.

Question 4

Do homeowners have to choose an estimate time?

Accepted Answer

No. A homeowner can send a request without choosing a time, or optionally choose an available one-hour start time from the contractor’s saved weekly availability. Times follow the time zone on that contractor’s schedule. If selected, the requested time is saved with the inquiry and shown in the private inbox for the contractor to review.

Question 5

Can I pause new estimate requests?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Contractors can pause and resume new estimate requests. While requests are paused, the public link does not accept new submissions. When requests resume, homeowners can submit according to the available times in the contractor’s saved schedule.

Question 6

Does Latchbird send AI reply drafts to homeowners?

Accepted Answer

No. AI reply drafts are optional and tied to a saved inquiry. A contractor can generate a draft, review and edit it, save changes, or copy it for manual use. Generating, saving, and copying a draft do not send a homeowner message; replies remain manual.
